GEDCOM Fix provides free tools and guides for working with GEDCOM family tree files. You may use the tools and read the guides for personal, non-commercial genealogy research without restriction.

No warranty on tool output

Our tools — including the Upload Readiness Checker and Tree Splitter — are diagnostic and utility aids, not a guarantee of upload success on any third-party platform. Output is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. You're responsible for verifying the results before relying on them, especially before overwriting or replacing data in your own genealogy software or on another platform.

Third-party platforms

References to FamilySearch, Ancestry, MyHeritage, and other genealogy platforms throughout this site are for informational and diagnostic purposes only. GEDCOM Fix is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated in partnership with any of these platforms, and their names are the property of their respective owners.

Your data and files

As described in our Privacy Policy, your GEDCOM files are processed entirely in your browser and are never transmitted to us. You retain full ownership and responsibility for any file you process using our tools.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site's tools and content evolve. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
